Mechanical

Dimensions has etched out a name for itself in the construction industry by providing world-class BIM solutions to all aspects of MEPF contracts. For mechanical contractors, we offer Mechanical 3D BIM modeling services to deliver intelligent 3D BIM models by using specification sheets, contract documents, design documents, and other inputs.

The model created by us are validated using SMACNA standards along with local codes wherever applicable. Our team of experts is capable of providing distinguished services in areas like Mechanical equipment modeling as per submittal, Duct layout as per project specification, Mechanical piping 3D modeling, design, etc.

As a leading BIM service provider, we ensure that the model we deliver stands up to the expectation of performance and is free from constructibility or other issues. Our experts produce construction documents for new as well as existing buildings. Additionally, under the aegis of mechanical BIM services, we also generate schedules of mechanical construction projects and ensure their coordination with other areas. Finally, by delivering a model, free from clashes, we ensure the minimization of errors during the construction phase. For maintaining work of outstanding quality, our experts rely on software and platforms like Revit, Naviswork Manage, Microstation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, 3ds Max, SketchUp, BIM 360, etc.

Some of the cutting edge mechanical BIM services offered by our experts include-

3D Modeling

Under mechanical 3D BIM modeling services, we convert 2D mechanical drawings or designs from project specification sheets, contract documents, or other sources to create accurate 3D models. The models generated by us are validated using SMACNA or other applicable standards. We also try to add value to our client projects by offering global best practices and deeper insights.

Further by delivering a 4D BIM model, we provide a detailed construction schedule of their 3D model- helping the client to visualize construction and track its progress in real-time. Ultimately we can ensure that your construction project is completed in record time while generating maximum ROI and minimum wastage.

Some of our distinguished service offerings are further listed below-
1. Clash-free HVAC models to avoid coordination issues
2. Faster delivery at the best prices
3. Robust models compliant with local and international standards
4. Fit-to-scale individual components within the ambit of coordinated design

Coordination/ Clash detection/ Collision report

Initially, mechanical, plumbing and electrical drawings were created in 2D by using CAD software. However, as basic documents, the actual intent of construction was not demonstrated by them. The evolution of BIM services however helps to address this problem by offering MEP engineers critical information that is taken out of the model.

Through the help of the 3D BIM model, the contractors can detect and address clashes between different building systems. We help in addressing these issues by offering Mechanical clash coordination services and make it possible to save time and cost during the actual construction phase.

After preparation of the mechanical model, we run the same along with other models through software like Navisworks or other platforms for generating “Clash Report”. We share the report with our clients through WebEx or other collaboration platforms and offer solutions like rerouting or changing the elevation to resolve the issues.

Through our coordination drawings, we are able to-
1. Identify collision with different models during the modeling and construction phase and save cost and time,
2. Offer a coordinated BIM model, and ensure the sustainability of different building processes.

Quantity Take-off

The Bill of Materials (BOM) document helps the contractors and project planners to have a grasp of the inventory of different materials along with their quantities required for the project. The Quantity Take-offs or BOM gives a list of the total number of materials required for project completion.

The traditional method of generating the BOM was manual where a data processing software like Excel was used to prepare a list of different materials and quantities required for the project based on its design. However, the arrival of BIM has made the process of generating quantity take-offs quite streamlined and automated. Further, the BOM is updated with every change being made to the BIM model.

Under the aegis of mechanical bim services, we also offer quantity take-off reports. Since these reports are generated in excel, they can be easily exported to the database for further analysis. Benefits of our QTO offerings include-
1. Quick and accurate estimation of the cost of the project with a prior inventory of required raw materials
2. Reduction of construction time with the QTO report to ensure required materials’ availability.

SHOP Drawings

Piping and HVAC shop drawings are the fabrication industry’s backbone and are always needed by mechanical contractors. We offer shop drawings that are compliant with different standards like ASHRAE. Our BIM solution is highly valuable for all types of constructions including complicated structures and we develop accurate detail drawing, section drawing and hanger locations from the BIM model.

2D Drafting Services

Our experts in the drafting team have a good understanding of Civil, architectural and structural requirements, and thus have the capability of providing drafting and drawing services that are executed well. Additionally, our experts come in with handy cross-functional expertise and offer drawings that can be easily searched, edited, modified, etc.

Content Development

There can be variations in geometry or technical specification of a product from one project to another. To address this need, we offer parametric and non-parametric modeling and have created a library of mechanical models based on different dimensions. The ready library of customized products can make it possible to manufacture or customize a particular content based on the exact client specifications.

Penetration Drawing

It is quite obvious that the MEP system will penetrate different walls or floor spaces in the building. It is therefore important to ensure that the wall clearances are located at exact places and there is enough clearance to avoid interference. This is where BIM comes into play. BIM helps to ensure the accurate positioning of the openings and there is enough dimension to provide the required amount of clearance to the component. BIM can also help in ensuring the building’s structural integrity by making sure that the design cuts do not create problems in the future.
